The main working principle of the plug valve is to control the flow of fluid by rotating a plug body with a hole (valve plug or spigot). When the plug is rotated by 90 degrees, the passage ports on it are aligned or staggered with the passage ports on the valve body, so as to achieve the opening or closing of the valve. Multi-port plug valves are designed for throttling and diverting a wide range of media, from clear water to solids-containing liquids, sludge, fibrous slurries, abrasive slurries and viscous liquids. 3-way and 4-way port arrangements conform to standard 3-way and 4-way sizes, allowing for a wide range of flow combinations.
